Our Spring CNA course will start on January 26, 2027. Please contact Counseling Services to get registered. Orientation for the CNA course will be available in a PowerPoint format, Zoom meetings for questions will be offered with CNA instructors.
All candidates are required to have a current American Heart Association BLS Provider CPR Card, show proof of immunizations/titers for MMR, Varicella, Hepatitis B, Flu Vaccination (if program dates are between October - March) and Tdap. Prior to entering clinicals a TB test will also be required. Please reach out to the nursing office at (530) 841-5929 with any questions.
CNA certification testing is provided upon completion of the course.
Certified Nurse Assistants (CNAs) are essential members of the health care team, who are hired in many settings, but most frequently in nursing homes. The demand for CNAs continues to rise annually with jobs available in skilled care facilities, extended care facilities, residential care facilities and hospitals.
CNAs provide basic care under the supervision of a registered nurse or licensed vocational nurse and report to nursing staff. Many RN and VN programs require applicants to complete a CNA program prior to enrollment. Vocational Nursing programs may grant credit towards the VN certificate for previous CNA education and experience. The credit accepted will vary by school.
